The Great Image: 5 Kingdoms of Elements

King Nebuchadnezzar who was the King of Babylon had a dream of a great image. It was an image of a man who was made up of different types of elements.

~Daniel 2: 31 - Thou, O King, sawest and behold a great image. This great image whose brightness was excellent stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.

These elements were gold, silver, brass, iron and clay. Each element represents a kingdom throughout time. At the time of Nebuchadnezzar, only the first kingdom was established in accordance to his dream. The other kingdoms were yet to be established.

The top of the image was a head of gold. This head of gold was actually the kingdom during the reign of King Nebuchadnezzar. The others were yet to come.

~Daniel 2:37 - Thou O King, art a king of kings; for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power and strength and glory.

... 38 - Thou art this head of gold.

King Nebuchadnezzar and Babylon was the head of gold in which 4 more kingdoms were yet to be established. After the head of gold was the breast and arms of silver. This represents the Media-Persia Empire that reigned from 539-331 BC.

~Daniel 2:39 - And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.

Greece became the belly and thighs of brass. That kingdom reigned from 331-197 BC. However, the most significant element of world dominating power would come the legs of iron or the Roman Empire (not to be confused with the Holy Roman Empire, but we will get there.) The Roman Empire reigned during the days of Christ, from 197 BC - 284 AD. Hence the Roman soldiers at Christ's crucifixtion.

~Daniel 2:40 - And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in peices and subdueth all things; and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in peices and bruise.

After the Roman Empire, there wouldn't be another until about 800 AD. The feet and toes of clay mixed with iron.

~Daniel 2:42 - And as the toes of the feet were part of iron and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong and partly broken.

43: And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

Can you guess what kingdom this may be? If you guessed mixing religion with politics, you guessed right. December 25, 800 Pope Leo III crowned Charlemagne, King of the Franks, as king of the Holy Roman Empire. When this happened, the Roman Catholic Church merged with the Roman Empire, thus establishing the 5th world dominating empire.

From then, the Holy Roman Empire has existed on and off. Many believe that it ceased to exist after the late 1800's. We are now seeing this great power coming back into complete existance. After all, the Word tells us that this exact empire will be in full swing at the second coming of Christ.

The ten toes are the ten kings which are also the ten horns, found on the beast in Revelation. Furthermore, the ten horns (or kings) will hate the woman (the Great Whore - Roman Catholic Church).

~Revelation 17:16 - "and the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the Whore and shall make her desolate and naked and shall eat her flesh and burn her with fire.

These are the kings or leaders that will come from the Holy Roman Empire or the EU (European Union) as we now know it. The Holy Roman Empire has always had a political and religious leader (being the current Pope).

In the last days the Holy Roman Empire will be ruling the world once again. It will be headed by these two leaders, a political leader and the current religious leader who would be the current Pope.

Can you see where I am going with this?

These two leaders will undoubtly be the Antichrist and the False Prophet. Even according to Roman Catholic books of prophets, they speak of an evil pope to come. This is found in the book called "The Coming Chastisement".

~Daniel 2:44 - And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed; And the kingdom shall not be left to other peopel, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms and it shall stand forever.

The stone analogy is Jesus. He will establish His kingdom when the World Government is abolished and the False Prophet and Antichrist is cast away.

Amazing how a dream of a king some 2600 yearsa ago has taken that long to slowly come to pass. Furthermore, it shows that the Lord can give anyone dreams and they may not even be saved.
